On Thursday, February 27, Krakow Mayor Aleksander Miszalski hosted at the magistrate’s office the Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin. The meeting was of a courteous nature, but was also an opportunity to discuss potential cooperation between Krakow and Thailand.

Thailand is famous for its picturesque beaches, excellent cuisine, traditional massage and Muay Thai. However, it is also an attractive partner for economic cooperation. The country’s authorities have been consistently developing a strategic international dialogue, as reflected in the Modern Thailand project, implemented by the Thai Embassy in Poland in 2024. This initiative is aimed at attracting business and investment partners, and Kraków could become one of the key centers for this cooperation.
No less important area of discussion was tourism. President Aleksander Miszalski, who has many years of experience in this sector, noted the popularity of Thailand among Polish tourists. He also stressed the importance of launching a direct air link between Poland and Thailand, along the lines of the former Warsaw-Bangkok connection, which operated more than 20 years ago. Joint activities of the city and the Embassy can contribute to the realization of this goal.
The meeting opened new perspectives for Krakow-Thai cooperation and was an important step in building relations between the two sides.
