From 26 September to 4 October 2026, the Andrzej Wawrzyniak Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw hosted the exhibition “Chud Thai: The Knowledge, Craftsmanship and Practices of the Thai National Costumes”. It was organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw in collaboration with the museum.

The exhibition was devoted to the eight styles of Thai national costume known as Chud Thai Phra Ratchaniyom. Beyond showing their beauty, it presented the knowledge and traditional craftsmanship behind each one, from the choice of fabrics to the way each costume is worn and the occasions it is intended for. Admission was free of charge.

On the opening day, 26 September, the exhibition was visited by H.E. Mr Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, accompanied by his spouse and Embassy staff. The Ambassador spoke with visitors about the origins and evolution of the eight costume styles, the features that set them apart, and the inscription of “Chud Thai” on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

We are delighted that Polish audiences had the opportunity to see it up close, and in a place that has done so much to bring the cultures of Asia closer to the public as the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw.
